How do I restore my Close By Plus purchase?

Open Close By, go to Settings, and tap Restore purchases. Make sure you’re signed in to the same Apple ID you used when you bought Close By Plus.


Why doesn’t Close By sync between my devices?

Close By is intentionally local-first — your relationship data stays on your iPhone and is never sent to a server. Your data is included in your standard iCloud device backup, so it will transfer if you set up a new iPhone from a backup.


I’m not receiving reminders. What should I check?

Go to your iPhone’s Settings → Notifications → Close By and make sure notifications are enabled. Inside the app, check Settings to confirm your daily digest time is set. Reminders only fire when at least one person is due.


How do I export or delete my data?

Open Close By and go to Settings. You’ll find Export data to save a readable copy of everything the app holds, and Delete all data to permanently remove it. You can also delete individual people from their profile.


Can I add someone who isn’t in my contacts?

Currently Close By adds people through the iOS contact picker. If someone isn’t in your contacts, add them to Apple Contacts first and they’ll appear in the picker.


What does Close By store about my contacts?

Close By copies only the name and contact channels (phone number or email) for the people you select. It never imports your full address book and never writes anything back to Apple Contacts. See our privacy policy for full details.
